Radical Republicans kicked out Taylor Greene for calling another congresswoman a ‘little slut’

These are turbulent times for the Republican far-right in American institutions. Freedom Clubthe radical Republican group in the House of Representatives, expelled the congresswoman from Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greeneafter acting in conflict with another member of the group, Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert.

The fight that caused Greene’s ouster began with a proposed motion of no confidence in Biden. Greene pushed his own proposal recall against the president when Boebert defeated him. Towards environmental reconstruction The Daily Beast, Greene and Boebert reportedly clashed in Congress after the latter’s proposal prevailed through legal action. The debate came after weeks of exchanges of taunts. “I gave you donations, I defended you. But you were just a little bitch to meGreene reportedly told Boebert, then accused her of hijacking the proposal: “You copied the articles of my proposal after I asked you to co-sponsor it.”

Both Greene and Boebert are part of that group of radical Republicans who are coming to power in the shadow of the rise of Donald Trump. Until two weeks ago, both were part of the Freedom Caucus whose main goal, according to one of its founders, White House candidate and Florida governor Ron DeSantis, was to “move the country to the right.”

While Boebert has a comfortable position within the radical group (he is responsible for communications), the differences between the group and Greene only increased in 2023. First, because of Greene’s support for the Republican Majority Leader, Kevin McCarthy: Greene supported McCarthy’s election in January, then in May defended the speaker’s debt limit agreement. Now the conflicts with Boebert finally led to his expulsion from the group.
