In the southern German municipality of Erdmannhausen, there may soon be fines for closing car doors with a lot of noise and running engines unnecessarily. The city council of the city of 5,000 inhabitants unanimously decided on the regulations in the field of “vehicle noise” in a meeting on Thursday evening.
Mayor Marcus Kohler announced this. The amount of the fine is determined on a case-by-case basis, the ministry said. The basis for the regulations is a model from the municipality of Baden-Württemberg for what can be included in the police regulation if there is a “local need”. Some municipalities and cities in the southwest have already adopted the “vehicle noise” rules, including Bönnigheim and Kornwestheim, for example. According to the neighborhood day, this specifically concerns noise that originates from private property.
The topic is on the minds of many people in the community in the district of Ludwigsburg in the state of Baden-Württemberg. While some consider it excessive, others support the scheme. (SDA)
