The Frozen singer has been discharged home after a six-day stay in a New York hospital. Madonna ended up in a hospital bed last Saturday. The sixty-four-year-old artist was diagnosed with a serious bacterial infection. The first night, the pop star was unconscious and put on a ventilator. The manager of the artist announced the postponement of her concert tour, planned for July.
Doctors managed to bring Madonna out of an acute condition. The singer returned home from the clinic. The pop star was taken by ambulance to his own apartment in New York. “He’s fine,” an insider told CNN.
Now the condition of the ex-wife of director Guy Ritchie has stabilized. However, according to the singer’s friends, a full recovery could take weeks, if not months. It is speculated that Madonna has developed sepsis, a life-threatening reaction to an infection.
“There was real concern for a short time. There was a wait before the doctors figured out what was causing the problem. Once they identified it, we were assured that the treatment would work,” the Daily Mail quoted Madonna’s friend as saying.
The Grammy Award winner is still bedridden. Madonna suffers bouts of nausea. According to friends, the artist first felt this symptom shortly before hospitalization. Madonna is known to have vomited before she was found unconscious in her apartment, a personal assistant witnessing her deteriorating condition.
“Madonna has been throwing up uncontrollably since she was released from the hospital and the infection is still wreaking havoc on her body. Madonna is still too weak to even get out of bed in her New York apartment,” TMZ quoted an insider as saying.
