The Swiss flight LX1053 should have flown from Hamburg airport to Zurich at 10:10 am. But it didn’t come to that. Because a suspicious object was found on the Helvetic Airways plane, which was supposed to fly on behalf of Swiss, reports “20 minutes”.

Cleaners cleaning the plane before departure found a suspicious object: an alarm clock with many wires sticking out. The Hamburg Federal Police had to leave.

Shortly afterwards, the newspaper reported that it could be given all-clear. With a delay of 40 minutes, the plane was then able to continue its journey to Zurich. Still: “Sowas is not a joke”, the police spokesman clarifies. Investigations have started. (chs)
