In an interview with the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, he tells what makes him the “Greatest of All Time” (GOAT). “For me, the GOAT is not the one who has won the most tournaments, the most Grand Slams or the most matches,” Tsitsipas explains.

If he has his way, the influence of a tennis player is crucial. “To me, the GOAT is the person who has gotten the most people into the sport, who has inspired many people to do something with their lives. The person who has made other people happy through their craft and through what they do.”

The number five in the world has a clear favourite. “I think in this case it’s pretty clear that Roger Federer had a big influence on it, as did Rafael Nadal.” In the past, Tsitsipas made no secret of the fact that the maestro is his idol.
