Two Swiss companies are directly affected by Schumacher’s new double life. While the watch manufacturer IWC from Schaffhausen has been a sponsor of the F1 team Mercedes for years, the watch manufacturer H. Moser & Cie from Neuhausen am Rheinfall SH has joined Alpine as a sponsor for F1 and also the Le Mans division.

The competitors’ headquarters in Schaffhausen are only three kilometers apart – but who can advertise with perhaps the best-known name in the motorsport world? Especially in the luxury segment, there is usually an insistence on exclusive contracts.

But Schumi now has a special deal. As Moser spokeswoman Nathalie Cobos told Blick, the two Schumacher companies in Schaffhausen are parting ways. In the job at Alpine he is an ambassador for Moser, in the job at Mercedes he is, as before, equipped with IWC.

On Wednesday, Schumacher wore the Moser model Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton on his wrist during the team presentation at the Alpine headquarters in England, which cost 79,000 francs.
