New job for Alisha Lehmann (24): The Nati player will play in the “Baller League” from January. The born Bernese has signed up for the indoor football project of two German football stars Mats Hummels (34) and Lukas Podolski (38), which is based on the good old days of stand magic.
Lehmann, a superstar with 26.5 million followers on Instagram and Tiktok, is very enthusiastic about the project. “This is a great idea that combines many things of today: pure football, entertainment and then making it completely accessible to fans through social media,” she told “Bild”.
The whole thing also has a personal component for her: “I grew up playing street football and always watched indoor football. During the winter break it was a real experience that I was looking forward to. The idea of offering this football a stage and bringing it back to the football field, with fair rules and a lot of fun – I wanted to be part of that.”
That is also their style, their understanding of football and their DNA. However, Lehmann will not be on the field. She fulfills a role as manager in the ‘Streets United’ team led by Podolski.
How does the new competition work? A total of twelve teams will compete against each other on eleven match days. The teams will consist of celebrities, ex-footballers, musicians, streamers, influencers and amateur footballers.
The game is played six against six and the game lasts two times 20 minutes. Special rules apply: goals count twice and players may only play the ball forward for two minutes. This means that there should be no boring ball movements in your own half. The final matches are scheduled for March. (Gentlemen)
