Bundesbern is in a festive mood today!

You did it! Elisabeth Baume-Schneider and Albert Rösti were newly elected to the Federal Council last week.

Today the two new members of the Federal Council let loose! Federal Bern is in a festive mood. After parliament elected Bernese SVP politician Albert Rösti (55) and Jura SP councilor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider (58) to government last week, the two are celebrating today in their home cantons. In the afternoon, the new Federal President Alain Berset (50) will also be received in his hometown of Freiburg.

Rösti celebrates in Kandersteg and Uetendorf

Parliament closes its sessions at 12 noon. Then it goes from Bern with extra trains to the respective parties. Rösti and his company are expected from 1.20 pm in Kandersteg BE, where he will toast together with the population. At 15:00 we will continue to his residential community in Uetendorf BE, where he led until now as community president. After a parade, the actual ceremony starts at 5.45 pm in the Bach multipurpose room – including a banquet, of course.

Baume tailors in Delsberg and Les Breuleux

Comrade Baume-Schneider and her entourage are expected in Delsberg JU at 2 p.m. After her election in the Jura caused storms of enthusiasm, some crowds can be expected today. The official part starts at 2:25 pm with a speech on Avenue de la Gare. At 3.45 pm we continue to the Les Breuleux JU residential community of Baume-Schneider. There, too, there is a reception with speeches in the church, until the party also ends in a banquet.

Berset in Murten and Freiburg

For the second time since 2018, SP Minister of Health Berset has taken over the federal presidency. He is expected today from 1 pm in Murten FR, where a parade will take him to Berntorplatz. After a reception with the population, we continue to the city of Freiburg. From 4.30 pm, the local population is also invited to join the procession from the train station to Theater Equilibre, where the toast will be held. Afterwards, the guests will celebrate in the Club Espace Fri-Sun. It’s going to be a long night.
