A total of 2,659 flights took off from Zurich from April 3 last week to Easter Monday yesterday – 14 percent more than last year. This emerges from data on the airport website, which the AWP news agency evaluated. But the pre-corona pandemic level has not been fully reached, there were still 3051 flights in 2019.
The cities of London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Berlin and Paris were served particularly frequently at Easter this year – but part of that is likely due to transfer flights. Palma de Mallorca, Istanbul and Barcelona also attracted a lot of attention.
Unlike last year, offers in various cities such as Bologna, Tokyo, Delhi or New York have been greatly expanded. For example, long-haul flights to Hong Kong, Cairo, Shanghai, Addis Abbeba and Seoul were (re)contained.
