For many people in Switzerland, mental health at work is as important as wages. (symbol image)

Specifically, 91 percent of survey respondents said it was important to protect mental health in their current and future jobs. Salary is only mentioned in second place (89%), followed by work-life balance and job security (88%).

More than half (58%) of those surveyed said they would turn down a job that would disrupt their work-life balance. Additionally, more people in this country will leave their current job due to reduced quality of life (50%) rather than a lack of career opportunities (29%).

Job satisfaction is generally very important in Switzerland: 57 percent of respondents said they would like to stay in a job they value, even if it does not offer any professional development options. Internationally, only 51 percent of survey respondents agree.

The Randstad Labor Barometer covers 34 markets in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. At least 500 people were surveyed in each market.
