This emerges from a survey conducted by industry magazine “Travel Inside” among bosses of the six largest tour operators.
“We have now shown an increase of over 20 percent in pre-bookings for 2024, both in tour operators and in retail sales,” said Stephanie Schulze zur Wiesch, CEO of DER Touristik Suisse, known for its Kuoni brand. The number of guests will also increase disproportionately.
Hotelplan Group’s business is also off to a good start. Bookings are “at the expected level,” according to boss Nicole Pfammatter.
Meanwhile, Knecht Travel Group CEO Markus Kohli expects an increase in sales this year. “While we expect to reach pre-Covid levels in tour operators again, we expect a higher level in retail than before the pandemic,” he said. Twerenbold’s boss, Karim Twerenbold, also expects an increase in the sales of all companies in the group.
Only André Lüthi, CEO of Globetrotter Group, was a little more cautious. He expects sales in 2024 to be only at the same level as the previous year. He said sales can only increase through acquisitions. (SDA)
