Gramo Danse celebrates 25 years of existence

Vertical and contemporary dance come together to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Gramo Danse Foundation through a five-week creative residency, a co-production between Panama and Mexico, the final result of which will be “I~tension”.

The he has work as his main The aim is to explore the possibilities of movement of five dancers suspended from a structure created by guadú (a type of bamboo) and steel cables – a structure whose balance depends on the forces of tension between its elements.

This is the winning entry Ibero-American Performing Arts Aid Fund, IBERESCENE 2022-2023.

“tension”, which is divided into five scenes, tells, among other things, about the search for the constant balance of a human being, a woman and a man equal, who move in
common space.

The connection and dynamics between the dancers – some are suspended from the structure with ropes or bungee, others climbed over it, and others at ground level – will lead the viewer to think about his own existence, about what sometimes sustains him, and what perhaps anchors him.
