After “Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey”: Even more horror films with Disney child characters confirmed

With the low-budget horror “Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey”, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield managed to achieve a real success at the box office: while the thriller’s budget was an extremely small 100,000 US dollars, more than 5 , 2 million dollars generated. So it’s no wonder that “Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey 2” has long been a foregone conclusion.

The reason why “Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey” caused a stir, especially but not only in the United States, is that Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, two of the most popular (Disney) children’s characters, are causing a real carnage here. This is possible because AA Milne’s classic children’s book “Pooh the Bear” is now in the public domain, i.e. it is no longer under copyright.

Therefore, the well-known characters, which were later also adopted by Disney, can be transformed into brutal killers. You just had to make sure that only elements from Milne’s original work were used.

More Disney Characters on Bloodlust

After “Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey 2” it is far from over when Disney characters embark on a gory foray. Because months ago that was confirmed Peter Pan: Neverland nightmare” And “Bambi: The reckoning also under development. Rhys Frake-Waterfields is also involved in this, planning a large horror universe around child characters who are now in the public domain.

And now it might get a little more complicated, because As has now been announced, two more horror films about children’s characters await us, However, Frake-Waterfield has nothing to do with it: “Winnie the Pooh: Death House” And “Peter Pan Goes to Hell” should be viewed separately from “Blood And Honey” and the like. Instead, Adam Stephen Kelly, SJ Evans (“Dead Of The Nite”) and Phil Claydon (“Lesbian Vampire Killers”) are responsible for Disney’s new horror set.

These are “Winnie the Pooh: Death House” and “Peter Pan Goes To Hell”

These projects were made public during the Cannes film market (it was also confirmed here that Plaion Pictures will handle the distribution of “Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey 2” as with Part 1). For the production of the two films, German distributor Dolphin Medien has teamed up with British horror company Red Shadow Studios to unleash Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan.

“Winnie the Pooh: Death House” is being written by Adam Stephen Kelly, with SJ Evans directing. The film would be a cross between The Strangers and The Purge. The story revolves around a school reunion on a remote estate. In reality, however, members of a cult are behind the invitation, who were tormented by the guests as children. Now, years later, they seek cruel revenge.

Adam Stephen Kelly wrote the screenplay for Peter Pan Goes To Hell, but Phil Claydon directs the horror film. Here It is said to be a cross between Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and the 1981 slasher Escape from Merciless Hell. It remains to be seen whether these films (or rather motifs from them) will ultimately be truly recognizable. In any case, we can probably continue to enjoy the fact that filmmakers want to get rid of our childhood for years to come…
