Cultural agenda: Activities on the occasion of Book Day

This weekend, the literary scene celebrates two important events, Book Day and Spanish Language Day, both on April 23, and for that reason, various activities will take place during these dates.

The celebration is very symbolic for universal literature, eminent writers such as Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare and others died on that day, which is why books and their authors are honored every year, encouraging people to read and respect the contribution of its creators to social and cultural progress.

Many countries celebrate this date, and Panama is no exception, for example Panama Book Chamber (Capali) will have a series of activities, April 23 at Andres Bello ParkVía Argentina, from 14:00 to 18:00, for the whole family.

The activity will include storytelling with the participation of Thatiana Pretelt “Spy Story”open mic, story workshops, interactive mathematics and book donations will be accepted for the project “Sowing Library”.

In the same place, in Parque Andrés Bello, and day, the Petit Urban Marketfrom 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., bazaar from entrepreneurs with used clothes, jewelry, plants, crafts and more.

There will be a book exchange open mic literary so that the public can read a a songyour favorite quote, tell a short story and even sing.

We jumped from the park to the Panama Viejo bookstore, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. there will be a “continue reading”in memory of the two mentioned events and on Day of Panamanian writers (April 25), in which the public will be able to read some rare works “Red Beret” Rogelio Sinán. Free entrance.

In it Cultural Center of Spain-Casa del Soldadothe celebration will be held a little earlier, on April 21, there will be a continuous reading of the work, “Don Quixote”from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., open to the public and free entry.

Finally, there will be an open mic at Little Morrison on April 22 starting at 7:00 p.m. where poetry will be read or storieswin prizes and share with people who love books.

The event is organized and moderated by Lou Luna of Libropolitan, which is celebrating its third anniversary amethyst valencefrom Catching Books PTY.
