Do it again, Indy! The new trailer for “Indiana Jones 5” promises classic old-school adventure cinema

Who would have thought possible: 15 years after “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” a new “Indiana Jones” role is hitting theaters – and even with the latest film, there were rumors that Harrison Ford might really are too old for the role.

But one Harrison Ford is undeterred by such prophecies of doom and grabs his hat and whip one last time in “Indiana Jones and the Call of Destiny” before bidding farewell to his well-earned adventurer’s retirement. Maybe we’re seeing some sort of passing of the baton to a new generation of adventurers?

Now there’s a new trailer for “Indiana Jones 5” and it promises the best old-school adventure cinema:

Here’s what we know about Indiana Jones 5

Very little is known about the plot of Indiana Jones 5. Director James Mangold certainly has a top-class cast to direct, as Ford also stars Hollywood greats such as Mads Mikkelsen (“The Rush”), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (” Fleabag”) and Antonio Banderas (“Uncharted”) will also be involved in the film.

It is also certain that viewers can already prepare themselves for a real adventure spectacle that will be an unmitigated hit – there is hardly any other way to explain the proud production costs of almost 300 million dollars. This makes ‘Indiana Jones and the Call of Destiny’ not only the most expensive part of the series, but also one of the most expensive films ever – and simply costs more than all of the ‘Star Wars’ parts.

A young Harrison Ford?

Part of the budget will certainly have gone into the complex and costly rejuvenation of protagonist Harrison Ford. Thanks to state-of-the-art aging technology, we can once again experience a young Indy in the opening scene in 2023. In this one, in classic Indiana Jones tradition, he’ll have to deal with Nazis in a castle in 1944 before we jump to 1969.

Whether all the effort was worth it and how much fun the final franchise entry with Harrison Ford will be, We can find out from June 29, 2023 when the film will also run in German cinemas.
