Lyubov Kabaeva herself was engaged in sports professionally – she played in the basketball team of Uzbekistan, so she always knew how to choose the right words and prepare her daughter for training. Alina herself, as it turned out, thought more than once about quitting gymnastics, but her mother restrained her.
“Salute your parents because they don’t give up in the first place. I know this from my mother. I wanted to quit rhythmic gymnastics and she said, “No, you can’t.” tell her, “Thank you, mom“, – said Kabaeva at one of the meetings with young gymnasts.
The perseverance her mother inspired in her paid off. In 2000, Alina won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney, and four years later she took gold in Athens. At the same time, the athlete treats victories very philosophically and does not get hung up on past successes.
“I remember my sports victories only when I come to my mother and see her photos: “God, I’m an Olympic champion!” I’ve had enough of sports. You have to leave on time. After sports, I found myself”– said Kabaeva.
By the way, the mother of the athlete, according to rumors, lives in a spacious apartment in the center of Moscow, the cost of which is estimated at 600 million rubles – there is definitely enough space for unforgettable photos.
When Kabaeva goes out, and this happens very rarely, her clothes are in the center of attention. From a young age, Alina was very scrupulous about her appearance, which is also thanks to her mother.
“Mom always dressed me beautifully, always! And then, when I was already playing sports and there was no money, I was nobody and they didn’t tell me anything, I still dressed beautifully. If I won something, I could spend my last money on clothes.– Kabaeva noted in an interview.
