Space for studying literature

About 25 Panamanian writers spent a year of fun and entertainment with renowned bookstores and talented artists.

All as part of the World Children’s Literature Day, which was celebrated last Sunday at Albrook Mall, in honor of the life of the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen.

It was a space where children, young people and adults could express themselves and learn from literature, between storytelling, narration, theater for children, puppet theater, music, dance, exhibitions and sales of books by local publishers.

During this IV review Literature for children and young people, The Ministry of Culture, the Panamanian Academy of Children’s Literature and the National Library awarded the recognitions of the Organizing Committee to Patricia Alvarado.

Alvaado is a writer and cultural manager, who spent more than 20 years in the editorial office of books for children and young adults.

The program began with the presentation of boys and girls from the program Especially from the National Network of Youth Orchestras and Choirs of Panamacelebration of Autism Day.

The coronation followed the first princess of the festivalwith the presentation of talented young writers from the program 500 stories.

The presentation of the clown Pepina together with the children of Kružok for children and youth of oral storytelling, between song and story, was liked by the audience.

The festival was closed with a tour of boys and girls who participated in the poster parade, presenting their posters, alluding to reading and books.

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué, praised the work of the writer Patricia Alvarado and congratulated her on the great work of teaching children and raising them, “carrying more than a hundred books is an extraordinary effort, what you have done”.
