After the semi-cup final between FCB and YB in Basel, there were wild scenes. According to the Basel-Stadt cantonal police, four employees of the security company of the stadium operator were physically attacked by masked people in front of the stadium after the match. Three of them had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries. Another person suffered minor injuries, police said.

According to the Basel-Stadt cantonal police, about 100 masked FCB fans had gathered in front of the stadium on Wednesday evening. “Some security guards were intercepted by a group of hooded fans,” said police spokesman Stefan Schmitt. How many of the 100 fans attacked the employees is unclear.

Some managed to escape, but four of the employees were attacked with objects. Police have not yet released any information about the items. “According to the current state of the investigation, the attackers were in the Muttenzerbocht during the game. We assume that they were FCB fans,” Schmitt told Blick.

“Security fled and was followed by the fans. The police rushed to help those who were attacked and were able to help them by stopping two people.” The prosecutor’s office is now investigating her.

According to the announcement, the mood was already heated before the game. People from both camps set fire to pyrotechnics, after which security personnel checked one person during the game. The controlled person and others in the area resisted so violently that pepper spray was used. The troublemakers were handed over to the police.
