The Sony Bravia TV A80K is in a class with top models like the LG OLED G2 currently on sale on Amazon (we reported). MediaMarkt and Saturn are now offering deep discounts on all three sizes of Sony TVs. The variant with 55 inches (139 centimeters) gets a 28 percent discount on 1399 euros. There is also a 100 euro voucher, which reduces the price to 1299 euro.
If you want it a size bigger, you can get the 65 inch (164 centimeters) version including a voucher of 200 euros for only 1599 euros. According to various comparison portals, the OLED TV has never been cheaper.
The Mark the deal MediaMarkt offers you the variant with 77 inches (195 centimeters) for 2899 euros. You don’t get a voucher here, just give it a try a Playstation 5 for free on top of!
This is the Playstation 5 with drive, which is currently available in the cheapest case for 549.99 euros. For the 4K TV you ultimately pay about 2349 euros, what by far a new low price goods. The cheapest offer so far was 2799 euros in the past.
Sony Bravia TV A80K: Top in image quality and sound
In short, with the A80K from Sony you get a really powerful TV at home. The magazine Hifi.de gives in the test the Grade 9.3 – no 4K TV has ever performed better. The conclusion is therefore positive: “The Sony A80K […] has everything a top TV needs to be fun. Excellent images, great sound and pleasant service.”
That pretty much says it all. As far as image quality is concerned, the Sony 4K TV consistently convinces, thank you 120 hertz smooth images for sports broadcasts and, thanks to HDMI 2.1 inputs, also for gaming. The peak brightness is also appropriate, but surpassed by current top models such as the brand new LG OLED G3. However, it also costs significantly more at MediaMarkt and currently costs 3999 euros with 65 inches.
In principle, the Sony A80K has only two shortcomings: on the one hand, the HDR format HDR10 + is not supported, on the other hand there is no analog headphone connection. Whether this is an argument against a purchase depends on your preferences. HDR10+ is mainly supported by Amazon Prime Video productions. The Sony TV also displays this, but ‘only’ in HDR10 format. However, the competing format Dolby Vision, which provides true colors and detailed contrasts in many Netflix productions, is supported.
A big advantage of the Sony A80K is the powerful sound, which thanks to the “Acoustic Surface Audio+” technology actually comes out of the picture. For this, Sony has built in a special technology behind the panel that generates vibrations and thus creates more boom in the sound. According to Hifi.de, the sound is comparable to a simple soundbar.
LG OLED B2 and G2: the best alternatives to the Sony A80K
If you already have a good sound system, this is the one LG OLED B2 a cheap alternative to the Sony A80K. The 55-inch variant currently costs only 999 euros at Amazon with a 47 percent discount. Here too you get 120 Hertz and two HDMI 2.1 inputs, but you also have to do without HDR10 + support.
If you care much about peak brightness, the LG OLED G2 an interesting option for you. In the 55-inch version, last year’s top model from LG costs 1699 euros at MediaMarkt.
Here too, MediaMarkt gives you a console. Not a Playstation 5, but one Xbox Series S, which normally costs 274.99 euros. So you still pay about 1424 euros for the television. The LG OLED G2 is also one of the best 4K TVs out there Hifi.de tested and got a 9.3 in the test.
