“I don’t like my BFF’s girlfriend – how should I act?”

My best friend has been in a relationship for over a year. Actually, I’m happy for him, even though he keeps complaining to me about her and I wonder how he can put up with that. She is a very moody and somewhat bossy person. He chases her like a puppy and is very concerned about her well-being, something I don’t get from her.

Me and my girlfriend, who has a large circle of acquaintances and gets along with almost everyone else, are always happy when she is not present at a meeting. Even if I only meet him, I hope she’s not present. Yes, I know that may sound unfair, but after many meetings it just hasn’t gotten any better.

Whenever he mentions how wonderful and beautiful his girlfriend is, I keep silent or ask him if he can endure the ups and downs for the rest of his life, to which there is no answer.

I don’t want to hurt his feelings or make our relationship worse. How would you behave?
