“Titanic” with sharks?! Horror blockbuster promises bloody mega spectacle “on a whole new level”

After Steven Spielberg delivered no less than one of the greatest horror films of all time with “Jaws” in 1975, shark cinema fell into disrepute over the years – starting with the increasingly bad sequels of the Spielberg milestone through the trash Cucumbers à la “Sharknado” from the low-budget blacksmith shop Asylum. With “47 Meters Down” and “47 Meters Down: Uncaged”, director Johannes Roberts gave us two of the few genre contributions that lie somewhere between the (only) masterpiece “Jaws” and the wretched Asylum spectacle – and enjoy considerable popularity themselves accordingly . And so the latest news comes as no surprise:

Because of all things John Roberts will now direct one of the best shark movies ever, which aims to take the genre “to a whole new level”. At least that’s what the filmmaker himself promises when announcing his latest film, with which it is once again launched: “The Red Triangle”. And the first information about the plot actually gives an idea of a dimension that is quite unusual within this genre…

This is the Red Triangle

Did Chief Brody and Co. got it in “Jaws”. dealing with the sinister-looking cartilaginous fish, a whole armada of sea creatures awaits us in “The Red Triangle”, not least thanks to their cinematic appearances, they enjoy a reputation as unpredictable monsters. Because nearly half of the shark attacks recorded in the US occurred in the Red Triangle area of the same name, which stretches 200 miles off the US west coast and is home to a large portion of the current population of about 3,500 great white sharks.

One of the greatest buffets in movie history will soon take place here. Because a huge cruise ship, filled to the brim with thousands of passengers, is wrecked in those waters of all places. The steel colossus begins to sink – and so the sharks serve up more fresh human flesh on a silver platter than they can devour…

Roberts, who most recently directed the “Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City” video game adaptation, will be filming his own screenplay with “The Red Triangle” and will once again team up with production company Allen Media Group Motion Pictures. Its CEO Byron Allen promises a “big summer event movie,” while director Roberts isn’t stingy with promises either. thereafter His latest film has been said to “terrify audiences like never before”.

We probably won’t find out until 2024 if this is all typical pre-press talk or if there’s actually more to these big words. Because the announced horror cracker for a summer start should probably arrive in cinemas at the earliest.

On the other hand, if you already feel like sinking ships, but can do without sharks, “Titanic” is served to you. James Cameron’s legendary mega-blockbuster is currently back in theaters:
