After “NCIS” & “The Big Bang Theory”: The next series hit gets a spin-off

Remakes, reboots, sequels: not only in the cinema are well-known brands regularly used, popular hits are also kept alive in every possible way on television – and continued or reissued. Because if the ratings suggest the audience wants more, why not just give it to them?

American television network CBS is currently expanding some of its successful TV universes. Early this year it was announced that cult researcher Leroy Jethro Gibbs would return from ‘NCIS’ – in the prequel ‘NCIS: Origins’, in which we will see a young version of the special agent embodied for years by Mark Harmon. In addition, in a few days we finally know who will be at the center of the third ‘The Big Bang Theory’ series: the two already known from the spin-off ‘Young Sheldon’ Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment). A few days later the following announcement follows:

Fire country“Although it only started in 2022, it should already be the origin of a new one Become a serial cosmos. Even before season 2 of the series, which can be streamed completely free in this country via Amazon Freevee, premieres in February, reports now exclusively that a spin-off is already being worked on about a character we don’t even know yet…

Morena Baccarin Gets Her Own Spinoff ‘Fire Country’

Morena Baccarin appears as a sheriff in season 2 – and should then become a regular in “Fire Country.” So write initially in a guest role, but with the option to soon become part of the series’ regular cast. And not only that: CBS is also working on a completely new series that will focus on the law enforcement officer, played by Baccarin.

Baccarin brings a lot of series experience, celebrated her breakthrough with ‘V: The Visitors’ and later conquered TV screens with TV hits such as ‘Homeland’, ‘Gotham’ and ‘The Flash’, for which she prepared the camera for years was standing. Of course, she’s also known as Inara Serra from ‘Firefly’ and ‘Serenity’ and as Ryan Reynolds’ love interest Vanessa in the ‘Deadpool’ films.

This is “Fireland”

In terms of content, ‘Fire Country’ is roughly reminiscent of the brilliant ‘No Way Out – Against the Flames’ by ‘Top Gun 2’ director Joseph Kosinski – and tells the story of Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot), who after a heavy blow from the fate, falls into the wrong place on the train and ends up behind bars. Because he finally wants to get his life under control, he undergoes a rehabilitation project by the fire brigade. Because if he proves himself here, his sentence will be shortened. But is he up to the dangerous battle against the wildfires raging in his Northern California hometown of Edgewater?

Baccarin plays Edgewater’s Sheriff Mickey, who knows every corner of the city like the back of his hand – and will do anything to protect the city and its residents.
