Production on a third season began before the start of the second season of “Reacher.” Amazon Prime Video therefore has confidence in the series – and for good reason. While the first season was one of the biggest successes for the streaming service, the currently running second season is also a big hit. Lead actor Alan Ritchson can even imagine himself playing the main character Jack Reacher for another fifteen years.
In an interview with He also addressed the rumors that his huge body is not only due to nature and hard training. While he denied testosterone doping for the first season, he has now resorted to it for the second season. He defends and justifies moderate use of the doping agent, which is known for its acceleration of muscle building and is especially common among bodybuilders.
Alan Ritchson: That’s why he’s on testosterone
Contrary to rumors, his huge body for the first season of “Reacher” was only due to hard training. But this pushed him to his limits and took his toll. That’s why he rethought things for the second season, says the actor, who recently turned 41:
“Getting testosterone was huge for me. When I finished season one, I had nothing left“Because of stress, exhaustion and what I had done to my body.” He was therefore a great supporter of controlled testosterone use, especially among people in their forties and older.
“I want to play Reacher for 15 years”
For Ritchson, using testosterone is the only way to continue the series: “I don’t want to have to have an operation after every season. Testosterone helps with that.”, he explains the price he wants to pay for pure physical training, but cannot. Especially because ‘Reacher’ is a ‘long-term project’ for him: ‘I want to play Reacher for 15 years,’ said the actor, also known from ‘Fast & Furious 10’. .
Perhaps this is the right time to point out: that doping with testosterone can have enormous side effects, especially if too high doses are taken. So it’s definitely not advisable to emulate the ‘Reacher’ star here – especially since he’s probably acting under medical supervision. Alan Ritchson explains that he only used “clinical doses that are very low.”
Of course, doping is not a substitute for training. It just complements it. He still has to “do his best in the gym,” Ritchson says.
