Magnus Carlsen is – again – crowned world chess champion.

The Norwegian scored 10 points during the three-day, 13-round tournament in Samarkand and remained undefeated (7 wins, 6 draws). Silver goes to Vladimir Fedoseyev, who plays for Slovenia. Yu Yangyi from China took bronze.

The Uzbek city will also host the World Blitz Chess Championship over the next two days. Carlsen, who has been in the lead of the world chess rankings continuously since July 1, 2011, will also start the Blitz World Championship as favorite.
