The battle between humans and the AI powers that were actually created to protect them has claimed many future victims after an atomic bomb hit Los Angeles ten years ago, sparking a war.
Former Special Forces operative Joshua (John David Washington) is still mourning the disappearance of his wife (Gemma Chan) when he is recruited to find and kill the Creator: the elusive architect of advanced artificial intelligence. It is said that he has developed a mysterious weapon that could put an end to war and humanity itself.
Joshua and his team of elite operatives cross enemy lines and enter the dark heart of AI-occupied territories… only to discover that the world-changing weapon he must destroy is an AI in the form of a small child.
