What will Mariano invest in DR and why did it cause a debate?

Mariano Rivera hopes to contribute to the development of tourism and the environment in the province of Samaná in the Dominican Republic.

As Dominican Today reports, the Panamanian, together with other businessmen, will invest 100 million dollars in the construction of the Northeast Valorization and Sanitary Fill Plant, which will become the country’s second CDR (residue-derived fuel) plant.

The project wants to solve it the problem of solid waste in the provinces of Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez through the treatment and recovery of 450 tons of solid waste per day.

The facility at the landfill will provide clean electricity produced from waste, contributing to sustainable tourism in the region.

The initial investment in the Northeast Recovery and Fill Plant will be $8 million, with plans to invest $35 million in the second phase, eventually reaching $100 million.

Doménico Piacquadio, partner and general manager of Constructora Maxter, one of the main investors, highlighted Mariano Rivera’s passion for sustainable ecotourism and his desire to contribute positively to the province. 1820

And Panama?
Rivera has received criticism from some of his countrymen for investing in the Dominican Republic rather than Panama, his country.

However, last year it served as a bridge for North American investors to launch a million-dollar project, also in the field of environmental protection.

Then the best closer of all time highlighted a special interest in acting as a link between investors and the Government, due to the economic effect it has for the country, especially in creating jobs, without impacting the environment.

“If it’s not going to create a lot of jobs and it’s going to be based on profits for investors, then that means absolutely nothing to me,” he said earlier.

It is about the SGP BioEnergy project, in which 7 billion dollars have been invested and is aimed at the development of a center for the production and distribution of biofuels in Panama.
