This is the least impressive Land Rover Defender ever!
A Land Rover Defender is tough, big and strong. In Japan, however, not all of them are. This Dafunder drives around in the land of the rising sun.
The Dafunder is a project by the Japanese tuner ESB Style. They are known for their flashy body kits.
From the Honda N-Van to the Land Rover Defender
This time it was the turn of the Land Rover Defender. Basically the car is a Honda N-Van. A car not available in Europe but very attractive in Japan.
Not because of its special design or good performance. No, the car is financially very attractive in Japan. It’s a kei car, also known as a Land Rover Defender.
Although the Dafunder doesn’t really have that Land Rover Defender feel, the new front end looks a bit like the Englishman with the grille, air intakes and headlights. To make the car a bit more robust, ESB Style screwed 14-inch steel rims with small off-road tires under the Honda.
No engine adjustments
On the back you can still find the Honda emblem and nothing has changed under the hood either. You guessed it: a three-cylinder engine with a displacement of 660 cm³ and an output of 64 hp (47 kW).
That’s what the Land Rover Defender Kei Car costs
There is no single price for the body kit, you can order all parts individually. The front costs 70,000 Japanese yen (487.92 euros) and the rear bumper 30,000 Japanese yen (209.11 euros). The 14-inch steel wheels cost 12,000 Japanese yen (83.64 euros). The seat covers are priced at 50,000 JPY ($348.51), the tail light cover is 25,000 JPY ($174.26), and the lift kit is priced at 38,000 JPY ($264.87).
