You will pay more than a ton for this modern Lotus Omega
After more than thirty years there is another four-door Lotus, a successor to the Lotus Omega, albeit fully electric, the Lotus Emeya. Although it is not taxed at BPM, it still costs a lot of money.
Lotus struggled until 2017, when China’s Geely took a majority stake in the small British manufacturer. Now there is plenty of money for the development of several electric models.
Lotus Emeya and Eletre
The Lotus Eletre, an impressive electric SUV, is doing very well with almost 120 registrations in the Netherlands since its launch last year. Emeya can only contribute further to this.
Starting price Lotus Emeya
The starting price is 109,685 euros. Lotus supplies customers with a 612 hp entry-level version, simply called Emeya. Above that is the equally powerful, more comprehensively equipped Emeya S, which costs 130 grand.
Then there is the Emeya R, which is listed for 155,025 euros. The model has a 918 hp powertrain and accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. Its top speed is 256 km/h.
Range and fast charging
However, the enormous performance potential has an impact on the range, which is around 490 kilometers. The “normal” Emeya can travel more than 600 kilometers with its 102 kWh battery.
The Lotus Emeya is a real fast-charging champion, with a maximum DC charging power of 350 kW. That’s enough for a charging time of 10 to 80 percent of 18 minutes.
