Biden wants to make Charles Brown the new US chief of staff “Did you deserve that?”: How Tina Turner went viral with the answer to this question

The Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force, Charles Brown, will become the new Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. President Joe Biden announced this on Thursday at the White House. He called Brown a fighter. “He knows what it means to be in the middle of a fight and to keep a cool head when the going gets tough.” The Army senior – born in 1962 – succeeds Mark Milley. The US Senate has yet to approve the nomination.

The Chief of Staff is the military adviser to the U.S. President and directs strategic planning for the Department of Defense. Brown has been Chief of Staff of the Air Force since 2020 and was nominated by former President Donald Trump. He is the first black man to lead a branch of the United States military.

Brown shared his own experiences of racism and made history, Biden said. Milley – once deployed as a soldier in Afghanistan, Iraq and Bosnia-Herzegovina – was also appointed by Trump in 2019. (sda/dpa)
