A Catholic priest has been sentenced to eight years in prison for raping a teenager in France. Between 2004 and 2008, the 49-year-old cleric sexually assaulted a then 14 to 18-year-old, the court in Douai, northern France, ruled on Wednesday, as reported by broadcaster France 3. The man was also not allowed to work with minors.
The Archbishop of Lille, Laurent Le Boulc’h, expressed his condolences and condolences to the victim. The Vatican has been informed of the priest’s conviction and will decide on a canonical sentence.
