A world map and a calendar are attached to the wall. Two men are sitting at a large desk in front of it. These are Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin (61) and political technologist Konstantin Dolgov (56), who is close to the Kremlin.

In a long interview, the mercenary leader gave his view on the situation in Ukraine. As is known about him, Prigozhin did not shy away from clear words.

Prigozhin repeated his criticism of the warfare in Ukraine. To ensure that Russia does not lose, it must declare a state of war and switch its economy to munitions production, he said. “We must initiate new mobilizations,” said Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin’s confidant, 70. All should work only for the war.

The shady businessman once again recalled the numerous defeats of the Russian forces, who “wet their pants” at Kiev and Kherson and then fled. Prigozhin stressed that the battle that had now begun must be ended.

20,000 Wagner fighters killed

The Russian military leadership was allowed to hear something from Prigozhin again. He made his political credo clear: “I love Russia, to hell with Shoigu, we keep fighting!” Sergei Shoigu (68) is the Russian Defense Minister.

He again criticized the fact that the Wagner Army Ministry of Defense would not provide enough ammunition or requested personnel. Prigozhin said the entire Donbass could be conquered today if he had received the 200,000 soldiers requested as reinforcements. Today Wagner has 6,000 men who could lead a company. So you could control an army of 600,000 soldiers. But the military leadership fears Wagner’s forces could turn against the Russian power apparatus and eventually invade Moscow, he said.

Prigozhin, on the other hand, praised the Ukrainian army. She is one of the best in the world.« They have a high level of organization, a high level of training, a high level of intelligence, they have different weapons. They work with all systems – Soviet or NATO – with equal success.”

For the first time, the Wagner boss gave his own losses in the battle for the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, in which 20,000 soldiers died, half of them recruits from prisons. Experts assume higher mortality rates. (nad/SDA)
