Apparently Ukrainian forces have had further successes near Bakhmut. As the US Institute for The Study Of War (ISW) reported on Thursday, citing several Russian military bloggers, the Ukrainians allegedly succeeded in making isolated front breakthroughs.
Accordingly, they would have breached the Russian defense lines south and southwest of the village of Ivanivske. Ivanivske is located about six kilometers west of Bakhmut. The Ukrainians would also have succeeded in breaking through the front near the village of Klishchiyivka.
According to Russian military bloggers, who are usually well informed about the course of the war, Russian units also withdrew from their positions north of the hamlet of Sakko i Vantsetti after heavy fighting. However, in the further course of the fighting, the Russian forces succeeded. to stop the Ukrainian advance.
While Bakhmut itself is largely under Russian control (read more about the danger of encirclement in Bakhmut here), they control the southwest of the province. Deputy Defense Secretary Hanna Maliar announced this on Telegram. The information cannot be independently verified.
