Russian propagandists panic over Western arms shipments

Russian television is concerned about the numerous arms shipments that Ukraine will receive in the coming months.

The British government announced on Monday that it would support Ukraine with further arms deliveries in the coming weeks. This is of great concern to Russia. The army of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin (70) has been pushed back several kilometers in the heavily disputed Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, so there is great concern.

At the same time, the West has promised Ukraine new weapons. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (45) secured arms packages from Germany and France ahead of his trip to Britain.

In view of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, which according to Zelensky has not yet started, Kiev is now receiving more modern weapons from the West. This can make things difficult for the Russians.

Worrying prospects for Russia

The British want to send “hundreds” of anti-aircraft missiles and cruise missiles with a range of about 300 kilometers to Kiev. In this way, targets far behind the front line could be reached for Ukraine. In view of the approaching counter-offensive, deliveries should take place as early as the next few months.

After the new arms pledges from Great Britain, the “prospects for Russia are even more worrying”, according to moderator Olga Skabeyeva (37). A surprising statement. Due to her strict loyalty to the Kremlin, Skabeyeva has already been called the “iron puppet of Putin TV”.

“We must take these problems with weapons and military equipment as seriously as possible,” added Russian military expert Mikhail Khodaryonok, 69. This statement also seems surprising, given that the Kremlin has historically tried to downplay the danger posed by Ukraine.

For Khodaryonok it is clear: Russia has no time for silly jokes. “We really need to prepare thoroughly with the necessary precautions. We must not give in to pride.”

Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, posted the scene on Twitter on Monday. He wrote, “The angst in the studio is palpable.”

In fact, the Kremlin seems to be adjusting its propaganda. According to reports in early May, the Russian state media must not downplay the danger of a Ukrainian offensive. In addition, it should not be said that Ukraine is not ready for a counter-offensive.(lia)
