Durham, who was appointed by Republicans, believes the agency has acted partially and with a lack of analytical rigor

John Durhamspecial prosecutor Appointed Republican to assess the FBI’s investigation into Donald Trump’s ties to the Russian conspiracy to interfere in the 2016 election, released a more than 300-page report very critical of the agency’s work federal investigation. In his view, the FBI should never have opened the case, acting biased and with a “serious lack” of analytical rigor. A whole potential argument that Trump won’t hesitate to make in making a profit in your current campaign.

The federal agency, the prosecutor claims, would have opened an investigation after informing Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s team of a foreign actor’s attempts to influence the election, which it did not do with the tycoons. As an example of the FBI’s negligence, he points out that he used “unsubstantiated, unprocessed and unanalyzed” intelligence initiate an investigation.

Durham was appointed in 2019 by the then Attorney General, William Barr, during Trump’s presidency, during which he served as Connecticut’s attorney general. With a long career behind him, he headed other high-profile investigations, including some involving the FBI and CIA.

Despite the fact that, according to Trump, the investigation is in Durham He wanted to discover the “crime of the century”the efforts of the special prosecutor resulted only three defendants. Of the three, two were acquitted, and the third, a former FBI lawyer, pleaded guilty to altering emails to help a colleague with a request to monitor a Trump adviser.

Republican Jim Jordan, chairman of the congressional Judiciary Committee, announced that he would send Durham a subpoena. For Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the report proves that federal agencies used a “false conspiracy theory about collusion between Trump and Russia.”

The FBI responded to the report by saying that the practices questioned in the investigation had already led to “dozens of corrective actions.” According to the agency’s statement, “if these reforms were operational in 2016, the deficiencies identified in the report [de Durham] could have prevented.”
