Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin taunts the Russian defense ministry in a 27-minute video. There is a lack of ammunition.

On May 9, Russia celebrates the victory over Nazi Germany. The day is of great importance to Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin (70), especially since he predicted victory over Ukraine for this day last year.

In fact, he’s as far from victory as he’s ever been. According to Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozchin (60), a lack of ammunition is the problem. Last week, he threatened to withdraw all of his mercenaries from the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut.

In the video at the time, he showed Russian war dead and shouted angrily: “You think if you have ammunition depots, you have the right to them too? If you gave us the ammunition normally, there would be five times fewer corpses.” He was then promised the ammunition.

Soldiers flee due to lack of ammunition

Yet the Wagner boss fired again at the Ministry of Defense. Addressing the audience with a 27-minute video message via the Telegram courier service, he said: “Our enemies today are not the armed forces of Ukraine, but a Russian bureaucrat.” That could mean Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu (67).

This reportedly provided only ten percent of the ammunition requested. In particular, there is a lack of grenades. “We were cheated,” says Prigozhin. The lack of ammunition even led Brigade 72 to flee Bakhmut after losing three square kilometers of land and 500 men. But where’s the ammunition?

The battle for Bachmut continues

According to Prigozhin, the Ministry of Defense hoards them. He says: “There are those who fight, and there are those who, once in their lives, have learned somewhere that there must be a reserve – and they save, save and save.”

Yet he states: “We will not leave Bachmut. We will continue to wrestle with the Russian Defense Ministry. Because if we leave Bachmut, the front will collapse.” A counter-offensive by Ukraine is reportedly imminent, he says.

In addition, Prigozhin attacked an unknown grandfather. It’s unclear who it is. He says, “The lucky grandpa thinks he’s okay. But what should the country do if it turns out that grandfather is a complete asshole?” Putin may have meant. Because Prigozhin ironically says that he can look forward to the parade on television: “The Russian army is strong and invincible there.” ( lia/ma’am)
