class=”sc-3778e872-0 cgWkHT”>

An ICE got on the wrong track.

Last weekend an ICE got lost on its way to Berlin. To get back on track, the train had to go back.

A train service manager is apparently responsible for the odyssey. A railway spokeswoman confirmed to the “Spiegel” that he had led the train on the wrong track at Braunschweig.

“We drove towards Magdeburg near Braunschweig,” reports NDR reporter Wilhelm Purk, who happened to be on the train.

The odyssey did not last long: the malfunction was already noticed at the train station in Schandelah near Braunschweig. The train responded promptly. The driver quickly got out and got back on the other side to drive the train back.

Passengers took the incident calmly

To get back on track, however, the train had to go back to Braunschweig and be guided there on the right track. The train finally arrived in Berlin with a delay of 31 minutes.

The passengers took the incident calmly. There was never any danger. (lia)
