Actor Kevin Costner and designer Christine Baumgartner have split. The 49-year-old has filed for divorce from the 68-year-old, as reported by the US celebrity site “TMZ”. “Irreconcilable differences” are the reason for the couple’s marriage.
A Costner spokesperson confirmed to the portal: “It is very unfortunate that events beyond his control have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in divorce proceedings.” It also read: “We ask that you respect the privacy of him, Christine and their children as they get through this difficult time.”
The now ex-couple has three children together aged 12, 14 and 15: Grace, Hayes and Cayden. According to the report, the two want to share authority and agree on that. There is no marriage contract between Baumgartner and Costner.
Christine Baumgartner is Kevin Costner’s second wife and has been in a relationship with her since 2000. The two have appeared at public events from time to time. Sometimes with their children.
Costner was previously married to Cindy Silva from 1978 to 1994. He also has three children with her: Joe, Lily, and Annie, who are between the ages of 35 and 39. Costner has another son with heiress Bridget Rooney, whom he briefly dated after his divorce from Silva. He was born in 1996. That same year, Costner was in a relationship with supermodel Elle Macpherson.
