At the same time, however, new possibilities must be developed. Specifically, according to her information, it is being investigated whether there is a need for a new control instrument for European foreign investments in the field of sensitive technologies.

Regarding the conflict in Taiwan, she said: “We strongly reject any unilateral change to the status quo, especially through the use of force.” She did not comment on French President Emmanuel Macron’s controversial statements, according to which Europe should keep an equal distance from China and the US on the Taiwan issue.
