A school bus driver in Amherst, Ohio, was recently overwhelmed by the harassment of some students — she actually vented her anger and then resigned. A video of it ended up on TikTok – and is now going viral:
The 68-year-old’s name is Jackie Miller and she’s been driving school buses in various places for 15 years, and she’s been in Amherst for two years. She has asthma and is allergic to strong smells. When a group of students sprayed extra perfume around the bus, her collar burst.
A video of her eloquent outburst that followed hit social media, where it went viral in no time. Many people felt sympathy for the lady – who meanwhile said in a TV interview that bus drivers were treated very badly all over the country. There are now t-shirts and sweaters with their iconic slogan:
Part of the proceeds will go to Jackie. A fundraiser has also been set up for her on GoFundMe. The goal: $200,000 for Jackie’s retirement and a vacation. More than half has already been completed. But she’s not thinking about retirement yet. She would like to return to chauffeuring adults with disabilities, as she has done in the past. (lzo)
