Fisherman finds living woman in sunken jeep

It started with a call from a fisherman. He said he saw a black jeep in a large lake in Marion County, Texas. The jeep was almost completely submerged.

The police went out with a patrol. But what started as a salvage operation suddenly turned into a rescue operation. When officers approached the car in the water with a boat, they discovered that a woman was in the car.

“One of our officers suddenly noticed that someone else was moving in the car,” said Chuck Rogers, spokesman for the Marion County Police Department. The woman was immediately freed from the jeep.

“It’s a divine miracle!”

The woman was taken to hospital. She is still being treated there. Rogers: “We don’t know how long she’s been in the water. So far we have no indication that there was any third-party error behind it – it was probably an accident.” The boat ramp, which the vehicle apparently drove into the lake, opens after a gentle curve onto a long, almost straight country road.

The woman is from Longview, about 22 miles from the lake. Her family reported her missing on April 5. Longview police said they could not provide further details about the woman or the circumstances that may have led to her predicament.

On Facebook, many reacted to the story as proof that “God had a hand in it!”. A local resident wrote: “How small is the chance that there is still an air bubble in the car that allowed the woman to survive for so long? It is a divine miracle!». (jmh)
