“Putin does not care about anything, he does not care about the Motherland – he is a satan.” This tapped telephone conversation between two Russians causes a stir. Because Putin’s blasphemers are close confidants of the president!
The oligarch and former politician Farkhad Akhmedov (67) and the well-known music producer Iosif Prigozhin (53) are considered allies of Vladimir Putin (70). They have repeatedly publicly expressed their support for the war in Ukraine.
A leaked phone call between the two now seems to prove otherwise – at least behind the scenes they apparently speak ill of the Kremlin boss. Akhmedov and Prigozhin gossip behind the back of the Kremlin chief, calling him a “dwarf” with a “Napoleon complex”.
“They are dwarves, small, full of insecurities. Everyone hates them,” grumbles Akhmedov, who was a member of the Federation’s political council from 2004 to 2007. You, by which Akhmedov means Putin and former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev (57).
The ex-MP also wonders when the war in Ukraine will end. ‘And what on earth will he end up with? And how on earth is this all going to be resolved after it’s over?” Questions many Russians are probably asking themselves at this point.
Putin is called a dwarf for a reason. It is known that the ruler of the Kremlin tries to enlarge himself with platform shoes during public appearances. His height: 1.70 m.
The two celebrities also know who Putin blames for the misery in Ukraine. The elite holds Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu (67) “responsible for everything”, says music producer Prigozhin, who is not related to Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin (61).
However, he himself sees another Putin comrade as responsible. Sergei Chemezov (70), head of the Russian high-tech giant Rostec and one of Putin’s oldest KGB friends. “He is responsible for the military-industrial complex and he doesn’t care about it,” scolded the founder of the successful record label NOX Music. “I can’t say a single good word about him.”
Akhmedov, the Azerbaijani businessman, has identified Putin’s inner circle as the biggest problem. “You cheated on him,” he remarks. “They live in their own reality, in their own world, with their ex-wives’ secretaries, and they pretend to be special. Everything is so wonderful,” mocks the entrepreneur, describing the Kremlin’s elite as “damned scum and “assholes”.
Prigozhin had to respond to this after the recording was published. He claimed the recording was fake. At the same time, he admitted that the voice that can be heard sounds exactly like his own.
However, most Russians doubt that the recording is a forgery. According to a Telegram poll by separatist leader Oleg Tsarev, 52, 58 percent believed the audio recording was genuine. Only 13 percent are convinced it’s fake.
“For the first time we heard what some members of the Russian elite really think and feel,” says Russian journalist Dmitry Kolesev (38) to the English “Mirror”. “They hate Putin, they are fully aware of the magnitude of the catastrophe and understand that the country has no future with Putin.”
