Now DeSantis is attacking Trump

Now Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is gradually venturing out of his position.

Prominent American Republican Ron DeSantis (44) is now taking an offensive approach to his internal party competitor, ex-President Donald Trump (76), after a long period of reluctance.

In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan (57), which appeared on Tuesday evening (local time), DeSantis immediately gave his fellow party members various sideways lashes.

“No Daily Drama”

In view of Trump’s New York investigation into hush money payments to a porn actress, DeSantis once again teased that he couldn’t say anything about the “behavior behind it.” “It’s not my field.”

When asked about the differences between himself and Trump, DeSantis referred to his own leadership style, which “doesn’t involve day-to-day drama” but focuses on the big picture — and on enforcing the people’s agenda, not the one yours.

When asked if he could beat incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden, 80, in an election, DeSantis said, “I think so.” The 44-year-old stressed that he did not say he would run in the elections. All he says is that he has what it takes.

application expected soon

DeSantis is expected to be the presidential candidate in the November 2024 election. He is said to have some chances. So far he has not explained himself. Trump had officially announced several months ago that he was running for the Republican presidential nomination. In polls, the two are well ahead of the party’s other potential presidential candidates.

During election campaign appearances, Trump increasingly targets his biggest internal party competitor, calling him “Ron DeSanctimonious” (“Sanctimonious” means hypocrite in German, among other things).

Trump is known for coining derogatory nicknames for political opponents. So far, DeSantis has hardly responded publicly to Trump’s attacks and has been more reluctant to talk to his fellow party member.

When asked about Trump’s “favorite nickname,” DeSantis said he didn’t know how to spell “Ron DeSanctimonious” or what it meant. “But I like it.” He added, “You can call me whatever you want as long as you call me a winner.” Because that’s him in Florida. DeSantis is the governor of the southern state and was re-elected last November with a strong result. (SDA)
