According to the research network, the Kremlin’s plans are said to have been drawn up in the summer of 2021 – several months before the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The Kremlin wants to prevent Moldova from turning to the West and encourage pro-Russian tendencies. And by 2030 at the latest. Apparently “Moldova’s interest in the Russian sales market” should serve as a means of pressure. This should prevent the republic from “harming Russian interests in the region”.

Putin wants to leave nothing to chance

The newspaper makes it clear: Moldova is considered an important arena for a dispute with the West. Attempts by outside actors to interfere in the affairs of the republic must be “countered”.

A “wider presence of Russian media” in the country should also enable the Kremlin to better control public opinion. The goal: to embed a negative image of NATO in people’s minds. Putin also wants to leave nothing to chance in the education sector in Moldova. Not only distance education in Russian is being expanded, Russian universities are also being opened in Moldova.

According to the research association, the paper comes from the same experts who planned the gradual takeover of neighboring Belarus on behalf of Putin.

As the “Tagesschau” writes, the paper is authentic in the eyes of Western experts. According to a senior Western intelligence official, Moscow wants to “put a stop sign in the west”.

Although Russia is currently doing everything it can to destabilize the pro-European government in Moldova, Moldovan Defense Minister Anatolia Nosatii (50) recently said there was no direct military threat to his country. Nevertheless, Russia “spreads disinformation and tensions within society” and seeks to “change the political order, destabilize and overthrow state power”.
