President of Argentina Alberto Fernandez, He is suffering from a herniated lumbar disc and must rest after being transferred to a health center in Buenos Aires this Tuesday due to severe back pain, official sources said.
According to the presidential medical unit’s medical report, Fernández underwent “appropriate studies that showed a herniated lumbar disc.”
For this reason, he will be subjected to a “root blockade scheduled for 48/72 hours” while “he was told to rest and adjust his activities” at the presidential residence in Olivos.
It was previously announced that the president presented “a picture of acute low back pain”, for which appropriate tests will be performed.
Fernández went with his ward to the Otamendi Sanatorium, a private clinic in the capital’s Recoleta neighborhood, to undergo diagnostic studies.
Alberto Fernández (63) had to be admitted to the hospital in June 2019 due to pulmonary thromboembolism.
At the time, part of his symptoms were “pressure in his back” accompanied by pain in his throat and one leg and difficulty breathing, as Fernández himself described.
At the time, the head of state was still a presidential candidate and his family doctor, Federico Saavedra, “recommended” that he rest in the hospital for 48 hours to assess his health before being discharged.
“They found a severe inflammation of the pleura. I had a small clot in my lung in 2008. They gave me, intravenously, drugs to relieve the pain and, since I was hospitalized, the doctor told me to stay and give me a general examination,” he commented. on that occasion Fernández.
In addition, last November, during the G20 summit held in Bali (Indonesia), the president had a breakdown and fainted, which was later diagnosed as erosive gastritis with signs of bleeding.
After medical assistance, he continued with his normal activities.
