Last Friday, Standing Committee of the Parliament approved asking the judiciary to order preventing the former head of the Council of Ministers and the former trade minister from leaving the country for their alleged intervention in the events.

The decision was based on “the possibility of avoiding justice”after a previous report recommended charging Chávez, Sánchez and Huerta as co-authors of Castillo’s failed coup.

In addition, the Commission proposed charging the former ministers with the alleged commission of the crimes of sedition and conspiracy, as co-authors and also recommends the suspension of Chávez and Sánchez, both deputies, from their parliamentary duties.
