The Thai king sent samurai to beat up critics

He doesn’t like contradictions. The Thai king Maha Vajiralongkorn (70), also known as Rama X., is therefore strict with critics. Anyone who insults the monarchy risks up to 15 years in prison. Even those who flee abroad are not safe. This is now apparent in a blatant case, as reported by “Bild”.

Rama X apparently ordered his samurai fighter. The victims: Thai exiles Aum Neko (29) and Nithiwat Wannasiri (37). They were in Paris when they were beaten by two men in 2019. The perpetrators were students of Petr D.* (46), the king’s personal samurai. A court in Paris has convicted the Czech of inciting serious multiple bodily harm. He faces four years in prison. The attackers were sentenced to 26 months in prison.

The two men pounced on the king’s critics and brutally beat them up. Neko suffered serious facial injuries. The Thais fled Thailand eight years ago and were later granted political asylum in France. She is sure that the king is behind the attack. “The king moved the samurai and his men against us.” The attackers were apparently well-known martial artists who had already competed in well-known MMA competitions and also had previous convictions. They would each have received 2,000 euros for the attack.

Rama X likes to spend

The monarchy in Thailand is considered an untouchable system. Criticizing the king is considered a capital crime. The king is considered a demigod and no one is allowed to speak to him. Anyone who does so should expect contempt or imprisonment. For example, many Thais do not like to talk about their monarch for fear of making mistakes.

An airline employee now had to fear for her freedom because she allowed herself an April joke on Twitter at the expense of the king. She wrote that the airline would introduce a direct flight from Thailand’s Nan province to Munich, because that is where the king’s second home is located. The monarch did not like this at all.

Rama X. is also considered the boastful king in many places. He celebrated his 70th birthday with an extra train and a huge light show. He also gifted himself a Boeing 777 worth CHF 500 million. (A)
