Prigozhin doubts the future of the Wagner Group

Heavy fighting continues for Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine. Both Ukraine and the Wagner troops deployed by Russian President Vladimir Putin (70) fight tirelessly and do everything they can to win the bloody battle.

Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin (61) recently personally announced that his mercenaries had conquered the entire eastern part of Bakhmut. But not all that glitters is gold. In a video, the Wagner boss hinted that the Wagner group may soon no longer exist. “Many things don’t live forever. That’s how it can happen with Wagner,” Prigozhin said in the video.

Is that Wagner’s “last step”?

He even speaks of a “last step” of the Wagner group. What exactly Prigozhin means by this is not explained in the recordings. First, “Focus” reported on the video, the authenticity of which has not yet been independently verified.

The Wagner boss then speaks of the planned conquest of Bakhmut and again criticizes the Russian army. “At the moment, the world has not encountered a well-trained Russian army,” said Prigozhin.

The Wagner boss has been raging against the Kremlin and its military leadership for weeks. Again and again he complains that his mercenaries have no ammunition. He also denounces the lack of appreciation for the Kremlin ruler Putin. Only recently did Prigozhin even threaten to withdraw his entire troops, thus provoking “the collapse of the Russian battle line.”

Due to the criticisms that Prigozhin has made time and time again, there is even speculation that he should receive a prison sentence.

Neither side wants to leave Bakhmut to the enemy

It is unclear who will ultimately win the bloody battle for Bachmut, which had a population of over 70,000 before the war.

The fact is: despite high losses, both sides refuse to give up the fight. While Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (45) emphasized on Tuesday evening that Kiev wants to keep the “Bakhmut Fortress”, the Russian Defense Ministry has also announced that it will continue the fight with undiminished rigor.
