King Charles wants to open Buckingham Palace more to visitors Radioactive capsule lost in Australia – the search is likely to be difficult

The British King Charles III. (74) wants to make Buckingham Palace and other royal residences more accessible to the public, according to a report. The “Telegraph” reported on Saturday based on its own information that visitors should be able to visit the palace in central London all year round. Until now it was usually only open in the summer months and for individual tours on winter weekends.

The monarch is aware that foreign state guests expect to spend the night at Buckingham Palace and that other official events should take place there, the newspaper wrote, citing insider sources. However, Charles is also aware that the public has great challenges to overcome in times of inflation and crisis and therefore wants to facilitate greater participation in royal splendor.

The “Sun” recently reported that Prince Andrew was no longer allowed to use his previous room in the palace.

The city palace is currently undergoing major renovation. Reportedly, Charles and his wife Camilla (75) want to keep their previous main residence Clarence House as the center of their lives anyway.

At least since the deaths of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, many of the royal residences have been largely empty. More sightseeing is also planned at the Sandringham estate in eastern England, where the royal family traditionally spends Christmas, according to the report.

The Scottish estate of Balmoral, where the Queen died last September, was said months ago that Charles wanted to use it for exhibitions.

He himself still has a house on the estate, Birkhall, where he stays when he is in Scotland. (aeg/sda/dpa)
