One thing is certain: on the “Norwegian Prima” of the American shipping company Norwegian Cruise Line you get value for money.
The cruise ship may not be the largest of its kind, but it does have top-notch amenities. The “Norwegian Prima” is 294 meters long, 41 meters wide and weighs 143,535 tons. She can accommodate 3,100 guests and 1,506 crew members. The cruise ship was commissioned in August 2022 as the first of its kind. It has 20 decks, 16 of which are for passengers. The cabins are spread over nine decks. Norwegian Cruise Line wants to add four more of the ship type to the fleet in the coming years. “The Haven” – Luxury is just the first name
For an additional charge you can rent the Norwegian Prima in the separate premium area The Haven. You can take advantage of the personalized service of a 24-hour butler. The spacious suites are also accessible via elevators, which are reserved exclusively for guests in the premium area. A separate excellent restaurant, a lounge with bar, a sun terrace with infinity pool and an outdoor spa, sauna and cold store are only available to Port guests. For example, a ten-day cruise to the Greek islands in the Premium area is already available for the regular price from CHF 15,949 per person.

Free fall slide over ten floors
The “Norwegian Prima” focuses on wealthy young people and adults who want to discover the child in themselves. That is why, among other things, there are several facilities designed to give guests an adrenaline rush. One consists of helix-shaped tube slides in which you are supposed to be in free fall. The rails work without water and run down over ten floors. To avoid unnecessary friction, climb into a felt bag before the start. Thanks to the partly transparent tubes, the tension is guaranteed.

Three-storey go-kart track
There is a very special attraction on the top deck of the cruise ship. It is a go-kart track that extends over three floors. The speedway has 14 turns around and through the ship’s smokestack. Length of the route: 420 meters. Up to 15 drivers can race on it at the same time – sometimes with an unobstructed view of the sea. The cars reach speeds of around 50 km/h.

On the «Ocean Boulevard» around the whole ship
Another highlight on board is the so-called “Ocean Boulevard”. The boardwalk on deck 8 allows guests to walk around the entire ship under the open sky in an area of over 4,000 square feet. Here, the outdoor areas of restaurants and bars are interspersed with spacious areas with sun loungers and swimming pools, as well as seating and hot tubs for relaxing in the fresh air. There is even a sculpture garden to discover on “Ocean Boulevard”.

Only for adults: the «Vibe Beach Club»
Another outdoor area is the “Vibe Beach Club” on deck 17. In order not to disturb the tranquility of the guests there, access is only allowed from the age of 18. In addition, there are only a limited number of places available so that the area never becomes overcrowded. The “Vibe Beach Club” is equipped with hot tubs and lounge chairs. There is also a bar available to guests. As with many cruise ship attractions, admission is chargeable.

For zombie hunting to the arcade
Guests who have had enough of the luxurious onboard reality can immerse themselves in virtual reality at the «Galaxy Pavilion» for an additional cost. In the arcade you can hold a Formula 1 race with friends, play virtual golf or float in the air with the flight simulator. In a mini 3D cinema, you can strap yourself into wobbly seats as you fire a laser gun at zombies on screen. Multiple participants can compete against each other. An escape room is also available to guests in the “Galaxy Pavilion”.

Table tennis in the tube
If you prefer to watch a match in the real world, «The Stadium» is the place to be. Free throw basketball, mini golf, beer pong, darts or even a ping pong table await visitors there. For a special challenge, you can play table tennis in a tubular “table”.

Spa with multi-level waterfall
Of course there are also areas for fitness and wellness on board. For the first time on a cruise ship, the “Norwegian Prima” even offers a sauna with charcoal stove. In the spa there is also a salt bath where you can relax weightlessly carried by the water. In the background, a waterfall splashes over two floors of the floating luxury palace.

Theater can be turned into a club
The “Norwegian Prima” also has an event hall. It can accommodate 700 people. On the one hand, musicals are performed, but also parties are celebrated. The hall extends over three decks and can be converted into a theater or a nightclub as needed.

Watch dolphins in the «Observation Lounge»
You probably have the best view in the “Observation Lounge” on deck 17. The room has a sloping window front that offers an unobstructed view of the water. The “Observation Lounge” extends over the entire bow of the ship. With a bit of luck you can see whales or dolphins from here. Otherwise, you can just sit back and enjoy the sunset.
