The rise and fall of Andrew Tate: a 5-act drama Putin praises relationship with China, highlights “Western pressures and provocations”

prologue

Lights out, curtains drawn, on stage: Emory Tate. The international chess champion and corporal of the United States Air Force married an Englishman in 1985 and had three children with her: Janice, Tristan and the legendary Andrew.

The marriage breaks down in 1987 and Emory Tate disappears again. Now Andrew, whose mother now has to take care of the three children alone, is in the spotlight.

Act 1: The kickboxing world champion

At the age of 18, Andrews began his kickboxing career. He also keeps his head above water with small jobs in the advertising industry. In 2008, he was named Britain’s seventh best light heavyweight kickboxer by the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA).

He continues to walk and box through life: in 2011 he becomes ISKA world champion in the cruiserweight class for the first time. The following year he loses the title again after a spectacular knockout by the Slovenian Franci Grajš. In 2013 he regained his belt and became world champion for the second and final time.

Since then, Andrew has said goodbye to the big kickboxing hype, occasionally still fighting for a smaller Dutch championship.

Act 2: The reality fighter

Now a (D) celebrity, he also made it to television in 2016: he was allowed to participate in “Big Brother UK”. Tate’s older tweets appear during the show, dimming the lights around him. He wrote about Canadian rapper Drake that he looked like he had Down syndrome, was gay and called himself “Cock”. The broadcaster apologized and pointed out that such comments would not be tolerated during the broadcast.

In fact, it doesn’t take long for Andrew to be cut from the show. Because shortly after the start of the broadcast, videos appear of him slapping a woman and then beating her with a belt. No fun scenes. In another video, a woman shows where and how much she was beaten. Tate says it was all consensual, it had to be role-playing.

Act 3: The online coach

But somehow Andrew has to make his money. To do this, he goes online: on the one hand, he runs a cam website with his brother where sometimes up to 70 Eastern European women sit in front of webcams and imitate scripted crying stories – for a fee, of course. According to his own statements, Tate earns several million from it. The model was designed for lonely men, Andrew admits afterwards that it’s all a “total shit”.

He also takes another path: that of financial advisor. Who gets access to his “Hustler University” (in German: fundraising university) for only 50 francs a month learns a lot about passive income, investing, returns and other important business terms. The motto: Make money quickly and easily.

You can get all the knowledge that the young hustler needs from selected “professors” in video lessons. With the anime profile picture, Professor Adam tells you how to make easy money with crypto, while Professor Andrew (not Tate) explains the basics of “copywriting”. Wonderfully serious, the whole thing. The university’s website is full of statements like “Escape the Matrix” and “Take the red pill”, which are very common in the QAnon scene.

Act 4: The Misogynist

But you don’t really know Andrew Tate for his athletic achievements or his online university, but for his social media presence. If the gentleman still has sympathy for you, you should be lost by now. Tate has been banned from Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok (Elon Musk undid it on Twitter this year), and for good reason: His content ranges from the far-right to the overtly sexist and misogynistic.

In 2017, he wrote on Twitter that women have “a certain responsibility” when they are raped. He also says that depression does not exist. He compares women to objects: when they marry, they become the property of the husband. They are not allowed to drive.

Nowadays he mainly distributes his content on the right-wing platform Rumble. His videos are clicked hundreds of thousands of times there, but his reach is much wider. Because most of his content can be found on fan accounts on TikTok and Instagram.

Here, too, the topics are questionable: how to become a man, how not to become a man, how to become rich (Andrew, of course, links to his university), who belongs to the scum of society and how can you become one of the top men.

Act 5: The rapist of human trafficking

It happened just before New Year’s Eve: the Romanian police arrested Tate and his brother Tristan. He is being investigated for rape and human trafficking. Rumor has it that the move came about after a Twitter spat with climate prophet Greta Thunberg. You can find the whole story about Greta, Andrew and the pizza box here:

And while we’re at it:

Andrew has reportedly been released, but this has not yet been confirmed. So we will probably have to wait for the outcome of our game. Is there a grande finale at the Causa Tate, or is the end open? We shall see.
